Pleased to read in yesterday’s Indian Country Today that the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve Diane J. Humetewa’s (Hopi, and former U.S. Attorney) nomination to serve on the federal bench. Her nomination now goes to the full Senate for final consideration. If confirmed, Hemetewa will be the first Native woman to serve in this position. A huge honor and proud moment for Hopi people!
